GABALA

Gabala – During the archaeological excavations near the village of Chukhur Gabala the remains of ancient Gabala city were found. The ruins of the ancient town are situated in 2 km south-east of the middle ages city site of Gabala, in the village of Chukhur Gabala, in the foothills of the Caucasus Mountains, on the territory between Garachay and Jourluchay rivers.

Beautiful natural monuments are the main factors attracting tourists to Gabala: “Yeddi Gozal” waterfall, “Nohurgol” etc.

The second-largest Winter-Summer Tourism Complex of Azerbaijan – “Tufandag” is located in Gabala which is of great interest to tourists. Four different cable-car lines have already been opened up to the public in this complex.
